If you are late for your appointment ...
Please note that our clinics are usually fully booked in advance and if you are more than ten minutes late we may have to cancel your appointment in order to make sure that other patients are seen promptly. If something arises that is going to make you late, please try and let us know, and we may be able to make arrangements to accommodate you.
Some patients are consistently late for their appointments and that is not fair on those patients who arrive on time.
These will be seen on the same day by the Urgent Care Team for such problems as severe pain, acute infections and deterioration in previously established conditions, i.e. asthma, but they will not be available with a specific doctor or nurse .
We offer an Extended Hours surgery on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. This surgery is specifically for patients who are unable to visit us during our normal working hours. The surgery is for pre-bookable GP appointments only and any patients needing to see a doctor urgently should still call the Out of Hours service, NHS 111.
The practice is also part of an Extended Access Services alliance offering more flexible appointments for our patients across other GP surgeries in Bideford, Northam, Torrington, Hartland and Barnstaple. The appointments are pre-bookable and are available with a GP, Nurse or Health Care Assistant, depending on the type of care you require.
